Show ' Mrs. Came Chapman Catt, president of the National American Woman's Suffrage association, who will direct the demonstration of the association in the interest of suffrage in Chicago this week. m -n -t:rr 1 ' -; , I UTAH women arc much interested in the meeting of the National American Woman's Suffrage association as-sociation and demonstration in Chicago this week, under the direction of the president, Airs. Carrie Chapman Catt. Mrs. Elizabeth M. Cohen and Mrs. H. J. Hayward of Halt Lake, who have "been attending the meeting of the General Gen-eral Federation of Women's Clubs in New York, expect to attend the Chicago meeting. An outline of events in connection i with the demonstration has been re-ceived re-ceived by Mrs. Franklin S. Richards, president of the Utah council of the National Suffrage association, from Mrs. Catt. The programme follows: A meeting or the executive council, combined with a national suffrage conference, will be held on Tuesday (morning and afternoon) and Wednesday Wednes-day morning, June 7, at the Princess theater. On Tuesday morning business prop-:., oyitions will be presented for discus-t discus-t sion to the executive council, but other r delegates who may care to be present will be welcome. On the afternoon of Tuesday a jubilee is planned for the rvictory in Iowa. Early on Tuesday evening a buffet supper will be given at the omhard hole!, where aa many delegates dele-gates as possible can get together, later Tuesday evening the Chicago ladies will give a ball to raise money for the parade. All outsiders are invited in-vited to he present. On Wednesday morning an appeal will be adopted to present to the Republican Re-publican and Progressive conventions conven-tions and will be carried to the resolutions reso-lutions committees by the procession. The adoption of this appeal by an immense im-mense and enthusiastic audience of suffragists will mean a great deal in t the whining of the plank. ? Although members of the resolutions committee for the political parties are usually' well known in advance, the committee is not supposed to be appointed, until the convention is called to order. It is proposed, if possible, to have one woman from each state (the president preferably), who will wear a sash bearing the name of her state, go to the hearing, so that every state may be represented repre-sented there by way-of moral effect. Speeches will be made by men and women from the enfranchised slates. The parade will start at 4 o'clock on Wednesday, mobilizing in Grant's park, across the tracks near Van Buren street, on the viaduct. TJiere will be a standard containing the number of the division to. indicate the place for mobilization. 1 The enfranchised states will come in the lead of the first division. It is hoped to have at least sixteen women wom-en from each one of the states, however how-ever remote, and from those nearer . to Chicago many more. Chicago does not want to give up any of its own women for filling out the demonstrations demonstra-tions from the various states. However, How-ever, if any women can be found to march in such vacancies we will put , them in if the lists are not full.' -Mrs. George Bass, 604 Tower building, build-ing, Chicago, chairman of the hospitality hospi-tality committee, assures us that accommodations ac-commodations can and will be provided pro-vided for all women who are willing to come to Chicago to attend the conference con-ference and march in the parade. The National Suffrage association is opposed to tho methods of the Congressional Congres-sional union, believing in the growth of suffrage by states, instead of a federal amendment, or at least opposes any radical means of-pushing a federal amendment. In the programme of the association convention a year ago one of the topics for discussion was "The Anti-Democratic Policy of the Congressional Union.
