Show COMPLETE PLMB OF OLD FOMSTII Committee Extends Invitations Invita-tions to All Aged People Within One Day's Trip. NO RAILROAD FARE Details of Programme Include In-clude Luncheon and Musicale. Arrangements have been completed by tbe old folks' central committee to entertain the old folks of the state in temple square, June 27. The plans outlined out-lined include a luncheon on the temple grounds at noon and a literary and musical mu-sical programme in the tabcrnacleat - o'clock in the afternoon. An invitation is extended by the committee com-mittee to all old folks from Brigham City to Payson and west to Tooele. Members of the committee decided not to extend invitations outside of tho territory mentioned becauso more than one day would be required to make tho trip from more far distant points, and the committee appreciates that the strength of many of the old folks will be sorely taxed' to make even a one day's journey. Free Transportation. Arrangements have been made with the managers of the Oregon Short Line Eailroad company, the Salt Ike Route, the Bamberger electric railway and the Oreru line to provide free transportation transporta-tion for all persons over 70 years of age, who are strong and able enough to attend this gathering without personal per-sonal aid. Tho railway companies have also agreed that they will issue a free pass to one attendant for every twenty old people. These aids will be selected from members of the old f oiks ' committee of the city or stake w:here these old folks live. The street ear company has consented to give free transportation to all the old folks of the city and those living on their suburban lines. The old fol"ks will receive further instructions relative rela-tive to the time of lea vine for Salt Lake and returning from Salt Lake in the afternoon. The people of the seven stakes of Salt Lake City and county have consented con-sented to furnish the picnic for this occasion. And the merchants and other prominent people of Salt Lake have generously donated of their means to bear the expenses of providing other refreshments, such as ice cream and lemonade, lem-onade, to be distributed during the day among the aged guests. But the old folks must provide themselves with a knife, fork, spoon and cup and must wear their official badge, indicating their ages. Luncheon Provided. It is suggested that the committees from the far out" wards provide a light luncheon to be passed on the train in transit, both coming and going, as is usually done by the central committee com-mittee when they take their old folks out of Salt Lake on a visit to the country. The chairman of each ward or stake is requested to report at once the number num-ber of old folks they will have for this excursion so that this information may be handed to the railway management that sufficient equipment will be provided pro-vided for the comfort of the veterans. It would be well for the chairman of the old folks' committees to apply to their station railway agent for further particulars relative to train service. On this occasion the old folks expect ex-pect to entertain as their guests the visiting governors from the various states of the union, who will be in conference in Salt Lake during the service, incident to the formal opening of the state capitol. The Oregon Short Line Railway company com-pany will orovide transportation for all the old folks from Brigham City south, including the city of Ogden. .The .Bamberger .Bam-berger Electric Railway company will take care of the old people south from Ogden to Salt Lake. The Orem lines will provide transportation from Pay-son, Pay-son, Spanish Fork and Springville, and the wards on the west side of Salt Lake county. The Salt Lake Route will have as their passengers the old folks from Provo Pro-vo City to all cities north as far as Draper, also Tooele. The stifcet car company will take care of the veterans from Sandy, Mid vale, Murrav and those living adjacent to the Hoiliday line, as well as all the city people. Badges Indicate Age. The old folks must be sure to wear their badges. A red badge indicates those 70 years of age and under 80. The blue badge indicates those over 80 and under 90 years. The white badge indicates all those over 90 3'ears. There will be no tickets, but the old folks will be passed on the trains and the street cars on their badges. This invitation is extended to all persons over 70 years of age, irrespective of creed, color or station of life. All will be made welcome wel-come and will be well taken care of by the old folks' central committee and their numerous aides. The old folks' central committee will give out information from time to time through the press and by letter so that everything pertaining to this big event will work in perfect order. All communications com-munications should be addressed to George L. Savage, 12 and 14 South Main street, Salt Lake City. It will be well for the chairman "of the various old folks' committees to communicate with him at once, stating the number of old folks they exnect from their respective wards.
