Show FORMER SALT LAKER DIES IN GEM STATE Dr. Oliver C. Ormsby, 72 Years of Age, Passes Away at His Home in Rexburg. Dr. Oliver C. Ormsby, 72 years of age. a prominent business and professional man of the intermountain country, died Wednesday night at Rexburg, Idaho, according ac-cording to word received here yesterdav by his daughters, Mrs. Orson John Hyde and Mrs. Harold Goff. Before moving mov-ing to Rexburg about sixteen years ago Dr. Ormsby was a resid en t of Cache valley, having Lived in Logan arid practiced his profession there for many years. He died following a paralytic stroke. Dr. Ormsby was a native of Pennsylvania Pennsyl-vania and came west with his father and other members of his family when a child. They were among the first settlers of the Russian River valley in California. In 1861 Dr. Ormsby came to Salt Lake City and later operated drug stores in Manti and Brigham City. His eldest son. Dr. Oliver S. Ormsby. is a prominent member of the faculty of Rush Medical college and a nationally recognized authority in dermatology. In addition to his son. Dr. Ormsby is survived sur-vived by Mrs. Maretta Smith OTmsby and Mrs. Ray Langton Ormsby, his widows, and the following children: Mrs. Slby! Halm, Mrs. Mabel Hayne, Mrs. Vera Zor-hurst Zor-hurst and Mrs. Rubv Woods, all of Kansas Kan-sas City; Cromwell Ormsby and Miss Leila Ormshy of Rexburg and Mrs. O. J. Hyde and Mrs. Harold Goff of Salt Lake; also several brothers and a sister in California. |
