Show CLAIMS CONFERENCE CMS TO II CLOSE M. E. McKirahan Is Re-Elected Re-Elected President of Railroad Rail-road Organization. With the re-election of M. E. McKirahan Mc-Kirahan of San Francisco as chairman-and chairman-and the discussion of a lot of routine business, the meeting of the Western Claims conference, which has been held at the Hotel Utah, came to a close yesterday yes-terday afternoon and most of the delegates dele-gates left for their homes last night. Officers of the organization declare that the meeting here was one of the most successful that has been held by the conference. One of the subjects under diseu&sion at yesterday 's meeting meet-ing was claims for damage and loss on automobiles in transit. The great number num-ber of machines shipped over western lines gives rise to manv claims, it is stated, and the problem is one that was discussed in every detail by the claim ' agents. A mass of routine business relative to claims of all sorts was informally and formally discussed. It had beeu j planned to continue the sessions through i today, but several of the leading delegates dele-gates had to leave last night, so the work was rushed through and an adjournment ad-journment taken after the afternoon session. At noon yesterday the delegates to the conference were guests of honor at an organ recital given in the Taber-j nacle. After the recital the delegates; had opportunity to examine the great! organ. , J The next meeting of the conference will be hHd either in San Francisco or j Los Angeles, subject to decision of the j chairman, in three mouths from now. j |
