Show MINE MANAGERS SAFE AT EL PASO AFTER FLIGHT EL PASO. Oct. 3. Norman Carmlchael, Milton McLeon and J. W. Bennie, respectively re-spectively general managers of the Ari-Izona Ari-Izona Copper, the Detroit Copper and the Shannon Copper companies, of the Clifton Clif-ton -Morenci district In Arizona, arrived In El Paso this afternoon from Lords-burg. Lords-burg. N. M., where they were arrested last night on the charge of being fugi-i fugi-i lives from .justice. At a preliminary hearing held nt 1 o'clock Sunday morning, the three managers man-agers were released from custody, the Lordsburg Justice declaring that the evidence evi-dence presented by the Arizona deputy did not warrant holding them. According to Mr. Carmlchael they were 'barged with Inciting a riot, a relony under un-der the Arizona law. rhe allegation being be-ing that their act in leaving Clifton and refusing to negotiate with the officers ol the Western Federation of Miners tended to hrfd disorder In the camp, where several thousand men are on strike. h was also intimated that the managers Intended to remain here until thf- Arizona authorities, take some definite defi-nite steps to meet the eituation in the Clifton -Morenci district. |
