Show ALTA TIBER MINERS IN HIGH-GRADE ORE Working on Four Faces With Fifteen Tons Broken Bro-ken for Shipment. High-grade copper ore and load -silver ore is being broken in four places for shipment in the Alta Tiger property, located In the Little Cottonwood 'district, according to John Matson, who has returned re-turned from a trip of Inspection to the property. He was one of a partv consisting con-sisting of David Phillips, vice president of the company, Allan T. Sanford and "Willard Hansen. According to the management, man-agement, there was on Sunday last in the neighborhood of fifteen tons of ore broken and sacked. The ore has been encountered about -100 feet from the surface and was struck when the Alta Tiger company, after securing se-curing a right of way to work through the Highland Chief tunnel, drifted Into the Alta Tiger ground. The position of the ore body relative to its strike and dip was determined by work done in the upper tunnel. Surveys made some time ago showed, according to the engineers, that the ore body would be picked up at about S50 feet of greater depth, providing the Alta Tiger companv secured a right of way to work through the old Highland Chief tunnel or drove another tunnel. After securing the right of way, H. W. Hammond, in charge of the development develop-ment work, cleared the old tunnel of debris and also started a force of miners drifting to cut the downward extension of the Alta Tiger body. This was struck within a few feet of the point indicated by the survey, the fissure having changed Its dip but slightly In its downward course. Four samples were taken that ran as follows: No. 1, .09 of an ounce in gold, 29.4 ounces In silver, 15. S per cent in lead and 21.5 per cent In copper to the ton; No. 2, .01 of an ounce in gold. 28.6 ounces in silver, 20.2 per cent In lead and .01 per cent In copper to the ton; No. 3 ran .04 of an ounce In gold, 8.3 ounces in silver, 8.35 per cent In lead and 21.6 per fent in copper to the ton: No. 4 gave .03 of an ounce In gold. 17.4 ounces In silver, 17.4 per cent in lead and 13.5 per cent in copper cop-per to the tori. |
