Show COAL BIDS OPENED BY REGENTS OF "U" Bids for approximately 1500 tons of slack coal for the University of Utah for the winter were opened by the board of regents re-gents yesterday afternoon at a special meeting of the board. The bids were submitted sub-mitted on the basis of 2000 pounds to the ton of screened, mine-slacked coal, to be delivered at the university in quantities as ordered. The employment of C. N. Haile as instructor in-structor in Latin and Greek was approved. Mr. Haile took his A. B. and M. A. degrees de-grees at Northwestern university and his Ph. D. degree at Princeton. He comes to Utah highly recommended by professors profes-sors of Northwestern university and Princeton as a man of ability. He has already had four years' experience ae a teacher. Robert Kellstrom was employed as assistant as-sistant fireman and Mrs. Frances to furnish fur-nish music for caltsthenic exercises in the primary training school. |
