Show mil l BLUE BELL IlffilE BODY Drift on 1700-foot Level Is Now Under Winze Sunk on Shoot From 1550. With the drift on the 1700-foot level of the Eagle & Blue Bell mine in the Tintlc district out under the tvinze which was sunk in ore from the 1550-foot level for a distance of about seventy feet, any round of shots may disclose the body, according to General Manager Imer Pott, who has returned after having completed an Inspection of the mine. In the event that the ore !s not found within a few days, the management has given orders to start to raise from the 1700 and connect up with the ore which is from eighty to ninety feet above. This is for the purpose of connecting up with the first ore deposit, which Is out about 250 feet from the mam shaft. This drift on the lowest level win be continued for a distance of from 400 to 500 feet to get under the second deoosit that was developed in the upper workings. work-ings. This second ore deposit ila.s been followed down from about the 850 level to below the lf.50 level. Dike the first deposit, a wmze was sunk on it on the lo?0 level and followed for sufficient depth to warrant the opinion that it would make to a depth of ut least 1700 feet, and when this conclusion was reached the shaft was dropped down to get under these deposits. Inasmuch as the water level will not be reached for 300 or 400 feet below the present lowest workings In this property, which Is now 1700 feet, the management expects that, a considerable ore development will be made before there is any interference from water. All the ore is a good average shipping grade, but the management expects that a considerable tonnage of second-class material will be developed, as it has in some of the adjoining properties. In the event the company has this experience, experi-ence, at some future date a mill may be required for treating the product. Manager Pett has been looking Into this feature and has made extensive investigations inves-tigations of the milling methods now-being now-being used on ore of the character found In the Eagle mine. Whan the time arrives ar-rives to decide upon this Installation it Is probable that all the plans will have been worked out, and it may be found that a considerable amount of the ore that is now being shipped can be handled han-dled more profitably by applying a mill treatment at the mine before it is shipped to the valley smelting plants. |
