Show Our Democrats. The organization of a Democratic party in Provo has again been effected. The Enquirere will not question the motives of this new organization, but by some it is thought rather presumptous on the part of the promoters of the same. In the main they are new-comer, and that may be one reason why they organized in the face of a Democratic party already in existence in Provo. The former organized in 1888, and fought a hard battle for delegate to Congress. Some afterwards forsook the ranks, but the organization still remains intact and a number have never since affiliated with any other party or cast a ballot not duly placed in the field by Democrats. Now it would have seemed a courteous acto on the part of the promoters of this new party, had they but consulted the officers fo teh Democratic party already in existence. This would have given a better feeling all around and really added strength to the new organization. As it now stands, we have in this city two Democratic parties. The one is not dead, but only sleepeth and some time it may be resurrected, when a mightly conflict may ensue, unless perchance the party organized last night may also soon be wrapt in the arms of Morpheus. |
