Show EUROPE HEM BUYER OF mm TRUCKS No Apparent Limit Is Seen in Demand and Shipment of Cars Abroad There st 11 s no apparent 1 m t to the ncrease n the exports of American cars as shown n the off c al f gures issued by the Un ted feta es derartment of com merce The fu 1 statistics for the month of Septembe and for the n ne months ending w th September just ssued show larger ncreases than yet ha e previously pre-viously been registered I As has been the ase s nee the early I months of the war period trucks occupy oc-cupy the most important position in the exports eclipsing the pleasure cars in value Dur ng last September 2227 mo tor trucks were sent abroad They were valued at $o 882 25o and these figures may be seen in their astounding s ze by comparing them with the 128 trucks i valued at $294 288 exported In Beptem ber of last year before the war had had t me to exert to the full ts vast influence upon the automobile indus try s export f eld Pleasure cars likewise show a simi lar increase During last September they were exported to the number of 1 4299 It will be noted that this is nearly twice the number of trucks but the value is only $3 215 459 or only three-fifths that of the trucks These pleasure car f gures compare with 646 machines value $597 904 sent abroad in September of 1914. In the tabulat on for the nine months ending with September the same situa tion s to be noticed Dnnng that period trucks exported numbered 17 69, valued at $47 769 216, as compared with 637 trucks value $1066 56o sent in the same period of 1914, which rep resented a decrease from the 1913 f g ures of 778 trucks value $1 351 140 Pleasure cars in the nine month period likewise show the same move ment namely a decrease in 1914 and then a remarkable jump in th e year |
