W. and Hill- strom Case Are Cause. Mrs. Virginia Snow .Stephen will not be reappointed to her position on the faculty of the University of Utah, because of her connection with the I. W. W. and her utterances ut-terances in connection with the Joe Hill-strom Hill-strom case. As long ago as October 7, th board of regents decided to drop Mrs. Stephen, but the fact was withheld, owing lo the agitation over the Ilillstrom case. One member of the board of regents made the announcement yesterday and other members of the board confirmed it, although President J. T. Kingsbury said he knew nothing of such action. The board of regents was unanimous in Us decision, October 7, not to reappoint her for the 1910-17 term, thereby automatically severing her con- nection with the institution in June. . The news was not entirely unexpected, ' there having been rumors that the regents were planning to release Mrs. Stephen ithe Hillstrom case had subsided. When the vote was taken to drop airs.
