Show and Mrs. Stanley Davits and son, Billy, left Wednesday for two-week's two-week's vacation in central Idaho, at Red Fish lakes, Sun Valley, and Ketchum, Idaho. R. A social honoring Mrs. Vilate Curtis, former member of the Bingham Relief society now of West Jordan, will be held at the Bingham ward chapel next Tuesday Tues-day afternoon at two o'clock. Mrs. Connie Harris will be program chairman. Officers will serve refreshments. re-freshments. Mayor and Mrs. Ed Johnson and daughters, Darlene and Mary Alice, visited with Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Boulter and family of Price last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ball and children are leaving this evening for San Francisco to visit the Golden Gate exposition for one left Friday evening .with A. E. Mitchell of Copperton for San Francisco. Maureen will visit an uncle, Howard Buckle, and an aunt for about two weeks in San Francisco. Mr. Mitchell went to get Mrs. Mitchell and children, child-ren, Dahrl Rae and David, who have been visiting with Mrs. Mitchell's monier, Mrs. Bert Schweitzer, at Los Altos, Cal., for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Buckle and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Goff, all of Copperton, returned Wednesday Wed-nesday evening from Fish lake. Seeing America by bus is a stimulating experience, Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Harris and Miss Helen Morris reported on their return Tuesday from a two-week's trip to New York City and the World's fair. Travel by itinerary bus tour is comfortable and stops ar made in all principal points of interest. The fair is all that it is advertised to be, and main exhibits ex-hibits may be seen in two or three days, the two girls state. One of the most interesting buildings on the fair ground houses the Italian exhibit. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Carter and son, Dick, and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Thomas of Copperfield left Thursday morning for a vacation Mr. and Mrs. George McDonald and daughters. Arthur Bauer postman at tne Bingham office since June 1, is leaving soon, probably Sunday, for Chicago, where he has been transferred. P. J. Murphy of the Chicago office has traded positions po-sitions with Mr. Bauer. Mrs. Francis Quinn and daughters, daugh-ters, Miss Marjorie and Miss Frankie, are leaving late this evening for a three-week vacation vaca-tion on the coast. They will see the fair at San Francisco, visit in Santa Barbara and Long Beach. Mrs. John Hutchings returned Sunday from a month's, vacation at Lake City, Colorado. Mrs. Frank E. Naso left on the Challenger Tuesday morning for San Diego, where she will join her husband. Mrs. Naso has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Looney, for seventeen days. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Caulfield and daughter, Lorraine, left Tuesday Tues-day for a two-week's vacation at Sun Valley, Idaho, and fishing fish-ing on Idaho streams. Miss Mary Robertson of Long Beach, Cal., is visiting her father, fath-er, William Robertson, and sister, Mrs. W. H. Trevarthen. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Larick LOCALNOTES Mr. and Mrs. Willard Nichols and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Olsen of Copperton left Saturday afternoon after-noon for a two-week trip that will take them to Seattle, Wash., Portland, Ore., and down the Pacific Pa-cific coast to San Francisco, when- they will visit the Golden Gate exposition. Mrs. James Culleton and children, child-ren, Jimmy and Molly May, left Monday on the Challenger from Salt Lake City for Pasadena, Cal., to visit several weeks with Mrs. Culleton's mother, Mrs. M. F. May. A shower honoring Mrs. Raymond Ray-mond Marriott was given Monday Mon-day evening by Mrs. R. R. Mar-riottt Mar-riottt at her home. Decorations and the menu were planned to carry out a pink and white color scheme. Present were Mrs. Jack Pickering, Mrs. George Pickering, Picker-ing, Mrs. Paul Pickering, Mrs. Frank Reid, Mrs. Eldon Cook and Miss Pearl Adair of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Rose Stuart, Mrs. Hazel Nichols, Mrs. Harold Wright, Mrs. Orvil Hughes, Mrs. William Hughes, Mrs. Clyde spent two days this week visiting visit-ing their son, John, at Fruita. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Skinner spent several days this week at Fish Lake. Dr. J. D. Pett of Chicago left Tuesday for his home after a visit in Copperton with his brother, L. F. Pett, and family. Dr. F. E. Straup, who has been confined to the Bingham hospital hos-pital since July 30, is reported in fairly good condition. Dr. Straup is suffering from subdiaphragmatic sub-diaphragmatic pleurisy and has been very ill. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Spendlove were Mr. and Mrs. Max Spendlove and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thompson, all of Salt Lake City. week's vacation Mr. and Mrs. H. Ireland of the Utah Power and Light substation is spending two-week's vacation fishing on Idaho and Wyoming streams with his son, David. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Groves and family returned Wednesday from a trip to Yellowstone national park. Boyd Kenner of Helper is visiting visit-ing his sister, Mrs. Manuel Osoro. Alger Baum, Billy Porter, Julian Ju-lian Baum and Elbert Rogers are leaving toduy for a three-day fishing trip on the Madison river. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Smith of Copperton were Ogden visitors Thursday. Enjoying a picnic at Big Cottonwood Cot-tonwood canyon Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Alger Baum, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McElroy, Miss Marion Copenhaver, Julian Baum, Mrs. J Ida Mugfur, Mrs. William Rogers, in the northwest and on tne i coast. They will visit in Oregon, San Francisco, on Treasure Island Is-land and in Los Angeles and return re-turn by way of Boulder Dam. Miss Dorothy and Miss Peggy Stringham, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stringham, returned return-ed Monday from a month's visit in Venice, Cal., with an aunt, Mrs. Tom Mellen. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morris and family came home Tuesday from Rexburg, Idaho, where they spent the week end with Mr. Morris' brother, Hilton Morris, and family. Mrs. Don Burns, the former Miss Lucille Nichols, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nichols, whose marriage was an event of July 24, was complimented by a shower show-er given Friday evening by Mrs. Arthur Bentley. Twenty-five guests brought lovely gifts for the bride and spent the evening at Five Hundred. Prizes went to Mrs. H. Smernoff, Mrs. Dick Steele and Mrs. J. T. Davis. Luncheon was served. Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Thelma Hansen, Han-sen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin LeRoy Hansen of Salt Lake City, formerly of Bingham, and Boyd Twitchell of Beaver. Miss Hansen is a former Bingham Bing-ham high school student. The marriage will take place August 23 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. temple. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Seal plan to spend this week-end in Provo canyon as guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Broadbent at their summer sum-mer cabin. Mrs. Broadbent is the former Miss Addie Wright. Mrs. W. G. Thomas recently returned to her home in Bingham from Taroma, Seattle and Vancouver, Van-couver, B. C, where she visited her sister, Mrs. D. Fitzsimmons. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lewis of Salt Lake City spent last week at Yellowstone national park and in Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Enrique Elizando, Mr. Elizando's sister and Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Arquelles of Salt Lake City spent Saturday evening visiting vi-siting Mrs. Joseph Crow at Copperfield. Cop-perfield. Mrs. Jesus Avila and Alex Hurtado were also dinner guests of Mrs. Crow. The occasion occa-sion was a farewell party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Elizando of Salt Lake City who are leaving for New York City. Principal and Mrs. T. H. Mc-Mullin Mc-Mullin left Monday afternoon for a two-week trip to San Francisco and other California cities. They plan to attend the Legion baseball base-ball games in San Diego on August Aug-ust 12-13. The Bingham Legion baseball team are entrants in the tournament. Mr. and Mrs. George Carrigan of Sandy and members of the Carrigan family enjoyed a picnic supper and program at Brighton Friday. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Jones and George Bihler are expected home this week end from- a ten-day fishing trip at Electro lake, Colorado. Colo-rado.
