Show WILL APPEAL CASE OF PORTOLA CAFE Judge Loofbourow Refuses to Accept Bond Allowing Bar to Continue Operation. An attempt by tho proprietors of tho Portola cafe to gain a temporary respite res-pite from tho judgment revoking the liquor license at tho cafe failed yesterday yester-day before Judge ,'P. C. Loofbourow. Counsel for h. W. Allen, proprietor, in whose name the license had beou granted, sought to file a supersedeas bond pending an appeal to the supremo court, tho idea being to allow tho cafe to continue its service bar in operation until the higher court had passed on the legal issues. The court declined to accept the bond, holding that the cafe had no right to oporato its bar since its license had been- revoked. 1 Jt is understood that Allon will go to the supremo court on appeal and will seek to obtain an ordor there allowing al-lowing him to continuo in operation pending tho appeal. In tho meantime the place will continuo to oporatc strictly as a restaurant. |
