The mammoth reservoir is owned by the Price River Irrigation company, of which George Austin is president and John V. Smith, Murk Austin, T. R. Cutler. L. B. McCornick, George A. smltn and it. w. Young am among the prominent promi-nent stockholders. There appears to have teen a slight cloud on the title to the Mammoth reservoir, as the government had never made a complete surrender of Its claim to the site of Ihe reservoir. From the Washington dispatch it is evident evi-dent that Mr. Thomas, who is the attorney attor-ney for the company. ha adjusted this difficulty and the title of the company to the reservoir Is now clear. Tho latiils on which a number of the prominent stockholders of the company had filed derert entries are located about ten miles south Of Price Though all re-'lulrements re-'lulrements of the government regulations regula-tions are said to have been compiled with, the government has not granted patents to these lands. Mr. Thomas has expressed the belief that the reason that the lands have not been transferred to the persons who have llll upon them is that the conditions have not been understood un-derstood in the Interior department, and he is of the opinion that this matter will he Immediately adjusted. : |
