George Gcrbcr. who went suddenly Insane .Monday night at Tooele, seems to bo regaining his senses this morning. When the shcrlfr entered the county Jail, Gerber said he knew that he was locked ln a cell, and when he was brought Into the sheriff's office he acted as If he knew the ofllcers. II Is said that on Monday afternoon Gcrbcr had been ln an nrgumcnt with some fellow-workmen, anil when he went to work on Monday night someone said something which brought back rcmr-rn-hrancc of the disturbance of the afternoon. after-noon. Ho then ran amuck and tried to whip every man who came near him. After the men had quieted him and got him Into the washroom, he came back Into the sintering plant and struck a fireman. fire-man. Irvln Harman. knocking him down a Illght of stairs. When he arrived here Gcrbcr assaulted assault-ed W. Roblson, tho nurse, and the latter drew a gun. Gerber picked up a club and declared he would "got" the nurse, notwithstanding the pistol. Gerber Is badly bruised up and will be held at tho county Jail pending examination by Dr. F. M. Davis. |
