Show ROAD COMMISSION GETS FEBRUARY REPORT Activities of the Utah Highway High-way Patrol increased during February with 855 arrests for the month compared with 597 arrests during January. Failure to have drivers' licenses licens-es lead the parade of arrests with a total of 246 and this was closely close-ly followed with 231 arrests for speeding. The patrol found ninety nine-ty motorists driving cars that were improperly registered. Ninety-three arrest tickets were given to motorists for running through stop signs. This is a vivid illustration of where "Haste makes waste." Two counties, Rich and Daggett, Dag-gett, were on the honor roll for February without a single arrest. ar-rest. There were only two arrests ar-rests in San Juan county while Grand, Summit, Uintah and Wayne followed closely with three each. The Patrol issued 342 warning warn-ing tickets compared to 233 issued is-sued during January. Warning tickets are issued for minor traffic traf-fic violations and are designed to educate the public to more careful driving and better familiarity fa-miliarity with traffic laws. O |
