FILM ON CARE OF TEETH TO BE SHOWN Eight thousand children from the public pub-lic schools of Salt Lako will gather at the Rex theater between 10 and l'i o'clock this morning to witness tho first production produc-tion here of a new moving picture Mm depicting, In story form, the progress of mouth hygiene In the public schools. The film will be exhibited free to the school children. The moving picture tellB a story of Jones, who at the breakfast table gets the toothache. The peace and happiness of his little family Immediately Immediate-ly is destroyed. His daughter Mary goes to school and there, for the first time, comes In contact with the Importance of mouth hygiene. Brush drill, mastication, mastica-tion, etc., exercises and the Inspection of children's teeth are shown. Mary's thoughts revert to her suffering father at home and by the aid of her dental literature and tooth brushes persuades her father to call on a dentist. Like his daughter Mary, Jones learns that proper care of the teeth prevents aches and pains and that the suffering Incidental to visiting a dentist exists only in the Imagination Imag-ination of tho Ignorant. The dentist points out many things of importance In mouth hygiene. Jones decides to follow his daughter'3 example as to the use of tooth brush of entire family, which he buys, vowing that hereafter the entire family shall take proper care of their teeth. The announcement was made Thursday and Friday In all the schools of the city that tho management of the Ttex had offered to run the picture without charge this morning and the children were urged to attend. The Salt Lake County Dental association has sanctioned the event. The Salt Lake County "Dental association associa-tion Is making every effort to advance the mouth hygiene movement In the schools of Salt Lake. In the schools It Is proposed to make a yearly Inspection of the mouth of every school child, giving giv-ing each a chart showing the condition of its mouth. It Is Intended that these charts shall be referred by pupils to their parents. Where the necessity for dental work appears It will be indicated in the char,ts. The film will be run at tho Itcx for two days early next week under an arrangement ar-rangement between Manager Davis and tho Salt Lake County Medical society whereby a certain percentage of the receipts re-ceipts for thene. two days will be turned over lo the society to use In furthering Its work among the Salt Lake schools.
