Show NEW FRATERNITY AT UNIVERSITY Chapter of Tail Nu Epsilon Ts Established With Seven Charter Members. i With tho assistance of Instructor Philip Bing of the English department of tho University of Utah tho freshman fresh-man boys have been successful in getting get-ting recognition from the Tau Nu Epsilon Epsi-lon national sophomore fratomity. This is considered by the freshmen as a big accomplishment, as this society is one of tho largest and .most influential under-class societies'ln tho country. There are chapters in about 140 of the larger colleges of the country and its membership mem-bership iB larger than that of any strictly strict-ly social fraternity in tho country. The aim of tho fraternity is primarily to foster good fellowship and good scholarship at the same time among the underclassmen of the college. A man must bo a good student before ho is admitted into the society and must also be what is known among college men as a good fellow. At present there are seven men in the society. These men will form the charter chapter at the university and will take in other members from time to time. Those who aro fortunate in gaining admittance already aro ITarrold Pykc, Harry Hcdgor, Jack Green, John Wallace, La Mar Nelson, Stewart Abbot Ab-bot and Gondon Van Alstine. |
