Show CITY'S REVENUE MAY BE INCREASED $20,000 Judge Loofbourow Decides Tax on Light Meters is Legal; Company May Appeal. By a decision Tendered by Judge F. C. Loofbourow in tho district court yesterday Salt Lake City conies into about $20,000 additional rovenuo, providing, pro-viding, of course, that the supreme court does not rule otherwise. Judge Loofbourow sustained the city'B ordinauco levying a tax of $1 a year on each meter maintained b' tho Utah Light & Railway company, and tho company maintains about 20,000 meters in the city. Tt -is understood the company will appeal. The Ordinance was passed by tho city council in If) 10, and was made ef-fectivi ef-fectivi during the life of the company com-pany s fifty-year franchise. The company com-pany immediately attacked tho ordinance ordi-nance on tho ground that it is unconstitutional. uncon-stitutional.
