Show Opening Up Quarries. Special to The Tribune. SPHINGVILLB, Sopt. is. The Utah Marble & Construction company of Salt Lake has a force of men at work on the blrdseye marble quarries in the east fork of Hobble Crock canyon, putting up buildings and tents for a permanent camp and expects to have quite a force of men working there all winter. Charles Henderson of Salt Lake, general gen-eral manager of the company, is on the ground directing the work. The dcvelop- ment of these quarries means much to the business interests of this city. Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Matson, wife of George B. Matson, who died Sunday evening of cancer, after a long illness, were held this afternoon in the Fourth ward chapel. Mrs. Matson was born in Caldwell county, Mo., October Oc-tober 25. 1838. She came to Utah In ISoO and settled In Sprlngvllle in 1851, where sho lived until her death. She was the mother of ten children, four daughlera and six sons, and Is survived by her husband, thre daughters and four sons. |
