Show CARMEN SPEND DAY IN OGDEN CANYON Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Sept. 13. Completely abandoning aban-doning for the day their task of legislating legis-lating matters pertaining to their national na-tional organization, 100 delegates of the Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees, together with manv wives and children of the visitors, left Salt Lake this morning and spent the entire dav in Ogden canyon. It was estimated by oftlcers of the association asso-ciation that less than a score of all the delegates who nave attended tho convention, con-vention, sessions In Zlon failed to moke tho Ogden trip today. The trip from Salt Lake was mado on I hoard a special train furnished complimentary compli-mentary by the Oregon Short Line, the big delegation arriving hero shortly after 10 o'clock. Headed by Tie-Id's band, tho delegates marched through the business busi-ness section of the city to the Ogden Rapid Transit company's passenger station sta-tion on Washington avenue, During the few minutes' walL until tho special trains of electric cars arrived, the visitors visit-ors from various parts of the United States wore treated to bushels of luscious Utah peaches which were furnished by J. S. Carver. Tt required eight cars to transport the carmen to the canyon. As In the case of the railroad, the transportation over the olectric route was complimentary. After luncheon at the Hermitage the delegates spent the afternoon In dancing or climbing the canyons In the vicinity of the canyon picnic grounds. |
