Show THOMAS MURPHY HELD TO DISTRICT COURT Preliminary hearing in the ca.e of Thomas Murphy, charged with attempting attempt-ing to commit murder by firing a revolver revol-ver Into the crowd during the I. W. W. riot on Second South street several weeks ago, was concluded before City Judge N. IT. Tanner yesterday morning and the defendant was bound over to the district court. Desk Sergeant J. C. Armstrong, the only witness called, testified that when Murphy ' was bolng booked at police: headquarters aftor the riot he acknowledged acknowl-edged the shooting. "Of course T did the shooting; everybody every-body was fighting!" was what Murphy said, according to the testimony of Policeman Po-liceman Armstrong. No witnesses were Introduced by the defense. Many of the r. W. W. members and their sympathizer. were in the courtroom. Tho bond of $1000 furnished by the defendant at the time of arrest was allowed to stand'. |
