Show GOOD RECORDS MADE BY CLASS ESSAYISTS Judge of Competition Has Difficult Task to Pick the Winners. Tn the closing address to the members mem-bers of the graduating class of St. Mary's academy, on the occasion of "Essay Evening" last night at the assembly hall of the academy, the Rev. James McNally, who acted as judge for the essay competition, told the girls that it had been difficult to decide upon the four best, essays of the ton submitted submit-ted by class members and that it was not so much a matter of difference in quality and style of tho compositions as it was of distinction. He inferred that ho had selected the winners because be-cause their efforts bore more distinction, distinc-tion, as essays. Following are tho winners and the subjects of their essays: "The Imperishable Imper-ishable in Literary Art," Miss Irene Young: "Mother,'" Miss Agnes Bow-en; Bow-en; "'Why Wo Forget," Miss Venus Eomney; "Class Essayist," Miss Madeline Mad-eline McCormick. The graduating exercises of the class will be held in the assembly hall of the academy next Thursday morning at 10 0 'clock. |
