Show TEN-MILE TEAM RACE FEATURE AT SAUCER Arrangements are going ahead rapidly at the Majestic saucer In preparation for Sunday night's race card. The feature of the programme will unquestionably be the ten-mile team race between Pye and Flnley and Wilcox and Duer. Manager Harry Heagren has called the event the Australian-American team race. Flnley Is tho present Australian champion and Pyo Is also from the kangaroo country. The race should be one of the biggest thrillers ever staged at tho local saucer. The distance of ten miles will be a continuous con-tinuous race with probably Duer and Pye starting the race. Whlttler will pace fhe American team and Samuelson the Australians. Whlttler and Samuelson will opefi up and circle tho track while Pyo and Duer are getting ready to start. The two riders will have to pick up their paco makers on the fly and when tho riders change at tho end of five miles Wilcox and Flnley will have to catch their pace makers on the Jump. The picking up of Whlttler and Samuelson at the beginning of the race and changing of riders at the end of five miles ought to furnish plenty of Interest. There will be a two-mile open lap professional pro-fessional and a one-third-mlle handicap professional, with all of Heagren's men entered for the two events. The amateurs are training, hard for their miss-and-out event and tho mile handicap that have been arranged for them. |
