Brief, but beautiful and Imprcsalvo funeral services Wero held for Mrs. Marlon Pickering, wifo of Edward Pickering, Pick-ering, at thc home. G'JG South Fourth East street, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. after-noon. Rav. Peter -A. Slmpkln opened the services with a prayer. 11c then made a brief address which was full of consoling words' for tho bereaved relatives ami friends. Ho spoke of Mrs. Pickering's beautiful motherhood and told how she hud loved and been 1-vcd by all who knew her. v "She Is not gone," ho said, "but it is as though she were in thc other room where, although not seen, she can see and watch over those whom she loved whilo here." Rev. Mr. Slmpkln repeated the twenty-third Psalm and quoted passages pas-sages from tho Bible. Mrs. Minnie Gallachcr Buckle fang "Sometime We'll Understand' ami Bob-crt Bob-crt Slddoivay sang "Unanswered Yet" and "1 Have Bead of it Beautiful City." The Pickering home was filled with many friends who attended the funeral and about scvcuty-fivc persons were unable un-able to gel Into tho house, but listened to tho services through open windows and doors. Numerous beautiful floral offerings of-ferings were sent Tho pallbearers. Leo Pickering, Leslie Pickering, Crawsby Pickering, Miller Hamilton, James Hamilton and John Hamilton, were nil nephews of Mi's. Pickering, Pick-ering, 'Interment was In ML Olivet cemetery. |
