The word has gone out among tho race track element ele-ment that with the advent of tho administration ad-ministration of Governor Bloaso in South Carolina, in January preparations will bo made for opening a big race meet in that state. It is said a 3100,000 race track is to be built at Charleston to bo ready for a spring mcotlng in 1011. The Charleston track is to take the place of the trades at Jacksonville and Tampa, where racing will be barred by statuto after January 1. While the plans havo been steadily developing, de-veloping, they barn not reached a point where any definite statement can be made, the promoters preferring to keep their own counsels. So far a3 -known the election of Mr. Blease to tho governorship gov-ernorship has nothing to do with the program. |
