Cummlngs field Saturday afternoon after a brilliantly contested game by a score . .(k of 21 to 1". The gamo was won by Colo- i'; rado in the Inst ten minutes of play, ' after it looked as though Utah was .a ;.! certain victor by a score of 17 to 16. .) Colorado college played the more con- -J slstent game throughout the contest. On J the offensive Colorado had a strong Inter "it ferf'nee that Utah had much trouble in l solving. Colorado's victory, however. -was due largely to two fluke plays In the flrbt quarter of the gamo. The first I touchdown for Colorado was made on a blocked kick and the second on the re- i covery of a fumble by Utah. Of the other two one was made on two long for- ! ward passes and the other on a long end l run with perfect interference. Utah fumbled repeatedly, and by these fumbles losi much ground to Colorado. The Tigers also were successful In inter-S inter-S coptlng forward passes, which netted them much ground. Utah played good, straight football and exrelled in ground gaining when It did not fumble. With this start In the third quarter, the varsity fought like demons. Utah received the kick-off. and then punted to the Tigers. The Tigers were penalized penal-ized for a foul tackle and Utah took the ball. On three straight line bucks the university made their yards, and then a wondorful end run by Romney around left end netted fifty yards, bringing the ball within twelve yardB of tho Utah goal. Utah made the yards in the three downs, with three inches to spare, and in the first down of the next play pushed the ball over the goal on straight line bucking. buck-ing. In the final quarter of tho game both teams were beginning to show signs of weariness and now men were placed in both teatrts.
