Y., has Introduced a bill In the legislature at Albany, which, In line with the recommendations of tho public service serv-ice commission, socond district, so amends the railroad law as to compel the publication in newspapers of railway time tables. In cities of third class and villages, publication Is required in all newspapers having a general circulation. A provision is made whereby the railroad rail-road corporation may appeal to tho public pub-lic service commission for relief if any newspaper charges for such advertising more than the minimum rate charged for general advertising In similar space. Railroads violating the provisions of the bill will bo liable, if the measure becomes be-comes law. to a fine of $25 a day, the penalty being cumulative. |
