Show FAMOUS VETERAN HORSES ARE SOLD AT AUCTION NEW YORK. Nov. 22. On a bid of $1100, The Director General, a famous stallion, was sold today al the second day's session of tho "Old Glory" horse sale at Madison Square Garden. A few years ago The Director General was bought for the Claiborne farm ut Lexington, Lexing-ton, Ky., for 512,000, and it had been expected ho would bring at least $10.-000. $10.-000. Frank McCloud of Dayton. O.. was the successful bidder. In nil. fifty horses were offered by the Claiborne farm and when the day's session ses-sion closed 100 horses had been sold for a total of $29,900. of which $20,720 was brought by tho Claiborne farm stock. The highest price of the day was $ltfi0, paid for Bonalin, a 5-year-old bay inaro. The purchaser was tho Walnut Hill farm of Lexington, Ky. Nella. Jay was sold to the Dromore farm for $lf00. Star Patchen. by Joe Patchen. with a pacing record of 2:05J. was bought by J. R. Oakdcn of Corning. N. Y.. for $1000. Charles R. Twecdalc of this city bought Wilkes Heart for $1500. Tin; annual meeting of the Amorican Association of Trotting Horse Breeders was held at tho garden this afternoon, and all the former officors were reelected. |
