Attorneys for the defense in the A. A. rruskctt murder trial today presented a score of witnesses whoso testimony was calculated to prove the contention that the defendant's mind had been affected af-fected by worry over bin oil business. when court adjourned tonight not a witness had testified with tho Intention of supporting tho claim of tho attorneys for Truskett that ho shot J. D. S. Neeley 'm11' -i because ho feared his own lfe was In danger. It Is. understood, however, that this phase of .the defense will be laken up next week. The trouble Truskett had over hls'lcaso of somo oil lands owned by Robert Goodman, Good-man, an Indian and a minor, was explained ex-plained by several witnesses. According to their stories, the Indian was "kidnaped "kid-naped by employees of oil companies controlled by Neeley and kept away from Truskett until Neeley's companies had. obtained from Goodman leases lo his property which invalidated those held bv Truskett. Truskett Is said to have lost $0000 in this deal, which greatly increased in-creased his bitterness toward Neeley. |
