Charles Conrad, aged 7S years, a highly respected resident of Provo. died at his homo In the Fifth ward this morning from heart failure. Me was born In Brovvnstown, Wayne county, Michigan. November 20, 1831, came to Utah, settled In Provo in 1SC1. ISIght children, the youngest sixteen years old, and a widow and other relatives rela-tives mourn. The date and nlace for holding tho funeral depend on tho arrival of two daughters from Colorado. Joseph Walters, aged So years, died at the county Infirmary Sunday from old age. Deceased was a native of Germany and has been In Utah .about thirty years, lie was a shoemaker by trade, and traveled trav-eled from place to place throughout tho state, never remaining long In any locality. local-ity. The county commissioners have received re-ceived a communication from George C Lambert, secretary of the Utah Lake commission, asking that tho plies left In the Jordan river west of Lchl, when tho old wooden bridge was replaced by a steel bridge, be removed, as they Impeded Im-peded the free fiow of water In tho river. Roylance, the defendant's domurrcr is sustained and plaintiffs are given leave to amend and the case set for trial February 19. Studebakcr Bros. vs. Charles Dotson, trial of case postponed till February 19. Albert L. Miner of Spanish Fork has begun suit for divorce In the district court against LllUc S. Adolph Johnson and Harvey Brown were arraigned before Justice Noon today to-day and enterod pleas of guilty to va-grancv va-grancv chargca. They were sentenced to fifteen days each at hard labor. Six boys under twenty-one years of age were before Justice Noon today charged with frcfiucntlng pool halls. They pleaded guilty and sentence was set for Tuesday. |
