The wheat market was active, but within with-in a comparatively narrow range. Lightness Light-ness of primary receipts formed a valuable valua-ble aid to the bulls. Threatened freezing of fall-sown fields, especially In Kansus and Illinois, was, however, the main reliance of buyers. Many belated shorts and investors took on good-slxed lines. The call for cash wheat displayed scant improvement, amounting to practically nothing. Flour manufacturers in particular particu-lar were said to be handicapped by fear on the part of would-be purchasers that manipulation In the wheat pit threatened threat-ened evil results.
