Holdaway of tho Tlntlc Central company has submitted sub-mitted the following annual report lo shareholders: "During the year 1910 we hav sunk the shaft 526 feel, and have boon bothered both-ered with water nearly tho wholo distance. dis-tance. Most, of the distance wo wero groatly annoyed by missed shots caused by water and the springy condition of the ground, making tho work very slow and expensive. The shaft is now 1036 feet deep. During the year wo have run out two drifts to carry water away from the shaft, into the fissured zone oast-ward. oast-ward. Tito first drift was driven out tmrly-rivc feel and tnc next ono iou feet to the northeast. "Slnco tho first of January wo have driven this drift 110 foot farther due east, cutting at right angles tho fissured r.onc. This zone has proved to be 150 feet across and we- have not yet found the cast wall This mammoth vein Is filled with decomposed lime, mud, talc, quartz, Iron, manganese, faint copper stains and calelte, "Much of Hie material assays from a trace to 1 por cent lead, a traco to 13 per cent copper, a traco to threo ounces silver and all carries gold from a trace to S2.25. This drift Is on the S70-foot level and demonstrates ono of the largest larg-est fissures in Tlntlc, the strike of which Is nearly duo north and south, and Into which the rising mountain has dumped Its surface water for untold ages, causing caus-ing much leaching and low values. "We will send out another drift at tho 1025-foot level and cut tho fissure again. Immediately under these largo deposits of leached decomposed ore. "During the year wo have installed two Burloy drills which aro driven by air, purchased from the Knights Power company; com-pany; partitioned off and sealed one-half of the shaflhousc to keep the men on top warm; driven 385 foot to drifts and put In fourtcon sets of timbers in samo, and timbered the throo-compartmont shaft os usual to the 1000-foot level. "Wo have In process of patent the fourteen westerly claims out of twenty, with no conflict now In sight. "The drift at tho 1025-foot level will be dry'. Wo should cut gray ore on this lower drift."
