Show THEOSOPHV TEACHER TALKS IH SALT UK C. Jin a raj a das a Deals With Christ's Teachings as Offer-ins; Offer-ins; Men Two" Ideals. C. Jinarajadasa. of Ceylon. India, who recently delivered a series of lectures In this city on thoosophy. spoke Sunday morning al Unitarian halt. ITe dealt with Christ's teachings as offering to men'two ideals. Ho said In part; , "Christ's teaching Is full of contradictions contradic-tions until you realize that He knew that souls have many lives on earth. Because souls aro at different levels of development. He does not expect of them one Ideal of conduct. The vast majority of mankind are only capable oi responding to an Meal of righteousness, righteous-ness, and to those He proclaims the commandments, emphasizing the fact that tho thought element, in a man's life Is far more important than mere subservience sub-servience to an outer form of righteousness. righteous-ness. To these He came to fulfill the 1 law. "Put Ho calls upon the more advanced souls, who already -in their past lives have lived in tho path of righteousness, to tread Ihe more strenuous and spiritual path of diacipleshlp. These are to be, one pointed in following Him. and not to be of the world. They have no part in thft development of the world, but are to be "fishers of men.' This path of disciple- j ship Is only for a few in this life, for, it means complete renunciation of every- thing arid following Christ. But Christ does nov expect every Christian to follow fol-low this 'narrow way. And to this path manv are called, but few are chosen. But "thnro will come a. time when. If not in this life, then in a future one. u'very soul will have to tread the path of dls-clpleshlp, dls-clpleshlp, and follow the higher Ideals that he prorlalms. As Christ propounds these two Ideals for the younger souls and for the older souls, reincarnation Is fully Implied, nnd In the light of this doctrine there Is found no contradiction when He asks one type of soul to honor fatlier and mother and the other type to be free of every family duty ami follow Him only." Monday evening nt Unity hall Mr. Jlti-aiviladasa Jlti-aiviladasa will deliver r.
