The sheriffs office received re-ceived word this morning that Jim Lombard's Lom-bard's saloon at Thistle Junction was entered by burglars some time last nl'--ht. About ?-U in dimes and nickels wns stolen from two slot inachincs, and one pistol was taken from the bar. The constable at Thistle stated, over the phone, that two men were scon around the depot at Thistle about midnight and furnished a description. ratrolmen Snow ami Martin arrested a man giving his name as Tom Crosby, who anawers tho description of one of the men supposed to be implicated in the saloon burglary, at an early hour this morning. Crosby, when arrested had in his pockets lol nickels. S quarters, 1 dimes and a ."3 caliber Iver Johnson double-action revolver. When .j.rresled the man was bare-headed and In his shiit sleeves and was under the influence influ-ence of liquor. He was first observed by the officers at S o'clock this morning morn-ing peering Into the Provo Commercial and Savings bank window and when accosted by Falrolmau Snow, the drunk- j en man reached into his hip pocket for his gun. but was too slow. The policeman police-man caught and overpowered him before be-fore he had time to use. the weapon. The officers are highly elated over the capture and are confident they have p. bud man behind the bars. They are now searching for Crosby's alleged partner. |
