| Show eights ind dec 10 special there assembled today to day at roberts park churchin whose proceedings tho methodist episcopal church all oyer this country have an universal interest fora ions time in the methodist episcopal church the question haa been mooted as to what portion of tho discipline was tho organic law or constitution of the churchard chur chand what was merely legislation the question has come up in various lenoral conferences from time to time until it has become serious with the more thoughtful this matter of interpretation was before the last general conference on the question of admitting women delegates and as a result of the discussion an order was passed le commending the appointment of a commission ot seven ministers seven laymen one from each general conference district and three bishops to prepare paragraphs to take the place of paragraphs 63 and 64 in the present edition of the discipline Disc ioline these paragraphs are to define and determine the constitution of the general confer ence to state of whom it shall be composed and by what method it be organized to declare its powers etc and to report to the general conference alie commission chosen to perform this important work is composed of the following members who are here today bishops merrill foss and ninde john wiley madison N J thomai D neely philadelphia jacob todd deleware luke hitchcock chicago alpha J charles L madison san antanio tex jacob columbus ohio the lay members are wm P dillingham montpelier vt francis H root Cuff dlo hiram L Si blev marietta 0 samuel II 11 elbert denver E N widney los B sweet topeka kansas and col john W ray of this city |
