City, who, together with his wife, is now representing a New York .firm, spent an exciting and unpleasant hour in the civil division of the City court, Tuesday afternoon. When Mr. Harris was ready to take his. departure lie had been shorn of a gold watcli and chain, a suit case. ?C. -10 in cash, and $2.50 out of $10 which Mrs. Harris had upon her person. The $2.50 was taken out of Mrs. Harris's $10 because she testified that she owned three-fourths of the business busi-ness and her husband owned one-fourth. Mr Harris's property was taken on supplemental proceedings on an old Judg- J ment that was rendered against him In : April, 1004. In favor of the Van Orden Corset company for $197. Mr. Harris 1 and his wife were preparing to leave tho elty on the afternoon train when apprised by a deputy sheriff that they were wanted. , After the orders were made In the case, I Harris dug up $17.50 and gave It in exchange ex-change for his watch and chain and suit case. j |
