Threshing returns also told of small yields. The market broke sharply about the middle of the day on liberal realizing sales, but it soon rallied again on renewed re-newed buying by commission houses. The close was firm. July opened unchanged to 1c lower, at SSic to SSSc, advanced to S91c and then declined to S7tc. Tho close was at SSS89c. Corn was strong throughout tho day, owing to active general, demand brought out by reports of more rain In the corn belt. OfToringH came chiefly from longs. An advance or Ac to Ic In the price of cash corn helped to stimulate demand for the options. The market closed' strong nt tho highest point of the day. July opened A?Hc lower to a shade higher, at 66c to Gfiic, and advanced to 67'67gc. where it closed. Wet weather and unfavorable crop reports re-ports caused a strong market In oats. July opened lc higher, at 438c, and advanced ad-vanced to 4 Igc, closing at. -HSc. Provisions wero active and firm. The bulk of the trading was In the September delivery.
