Show GREAT KANSAS FLOOD TS VIRTUALLY OVER KANSAS CITY, June 10. With the waters of both the Kaw and Missouri rivers receding slowly and with smnll indications for further rain, it appears that the great flood is over. At 4 p. m. the Missouri was 2fl.S feet, a fall of five inches during tho past twenty-four j hours, whilo the Knw stood 27.S foet, j a fall of one-eighth foot The. Kaw is falling stoadily from Manhattan eastward. Tho weather over the flooded district is cloudy, with showers in places, though no apprehension apprehen-sion is felt. Observer Conner sa3's that j indications arc that the rivers locally will continue to fall unless an unlooked for heavy rain should fall in the territory terri-tory drained 03' the tributaries of tho two rivers. Light shewers fell here all day, add- 1 ing much discomfort to the poor suf- ferers. |
