CONFERENCE HELD TO CONSIDER MANY MATTERS Special Train for Cache Valley Metropolis Will Leave Tuesday Morning. Orlando W. Powers will bo tho chairman chair-man of the Democratic state convention, conven-tion, which will conveno at Logau on Tucsda3 This much was decided upon at a conference of Doniocrats held in tho office of James H. Mo3'le on Saturda3' night. Other officers of the convention will not bo decided upon until Mon-da3. Mon-da3. Tho convention will meet in tho Opera house or auditorium in Logan at 11:30 o'clock Tuesday next. A special spe-cial train will leave Salt Lake for Logau Lo-gau on Tuesday morning at 7:30 o'clock, carding the delegates from tho south part of tho stare, who will rcudczvous here on Monda3. Practical' every delegate dele-gate will wear a badge, oh which will ho printed "For Governor, Undo Jesse. ' ' At tho conference hold Saturday night the question of tho platform to be presented pre-sented to tho convention was discussed at length. A number of planks wore considered. There was considerable debate de-bate over proposed planks pertaining to local option, and to legislation, favoring a railroad commission. Fiunlty all resolutions reso-lutions wero referred to a committee, and tho commit tco will report at a later meeting. The indications at tho conference confer-ence were that both theso planks will be put in the platform, although thero is considerable opposition to them. A meeting of the stato central committee com-mittee will be held on Mondny, when all thp details for tho convention will he arranged. |
