Show HEARST CONTINUES ATTACK ON HASKELL MEMPHIS. Tenu., Sept. 19. William JR. Hearst, editor of several papers and presidential candidate of tho Independence Independ-ence party, addressed a well-filled house hero tonight. Mr. Hearst plunged right into his charges against Governor O. 3N". Haskell of Oklahoma, snying that gentleman gen-tleman would not allow r.he attorney-general attorney-general of Oklahoma to secure an iu-.iunction iu-.iunction ngainst a subsidiary corporation corpora-tion of the Standard Oil company. Mr. Hearst also -read a letter alleqcd to have been written by Representative Joseph Sibley of Pennsylvania, and addressed ad-dressed "My Dear Mr. A.," in which tho writer stated that tho corporations had a strong friend in "Senator B." Mr. Jloiirst read a letter purported to have been written by John D. Archbold of tho Standard Oil company to Mr. Sib-lov. Sib-lov. saying: "We are anxious to have a talk with Senator Bailey." Mr. Hearst left on a late tram for Now York, whero ho will attend the sessions of the state convention of tho Indopendenco party, to bo held in Cooper Coop-er uniou September 22. |
