Show i STATE BOARD OF PARDONS CONSIDERS SPENCER'S CASE The state board of pardons convened nt the stato penitentiary at 10 o'clock Saturday, tho occasion being tho regular regu-lar monthly meeting of that body, and, after having boon in session until (5:;15 in the evening, announced that oQicial action had been taken in but one case, namely, that of "William E. Albrecht, who was sorving a term on a burgalry ! charge committed several years ago. I Albrecht was granted a pardon. The greater part of the time, it is understood, was taken up in listening to arguments in the Sampel Cf. Spencer case. Spencer, it will bo remembered, petitioned the board to grant him a pardon over two" months aqo. but tho case lias beeu postponed from month to month aud no action has yet been taken. Spencer is now trying to get a parole. From what could bo learned of tho meeting held Saturday, tho board considered his application very full', and a decision probably will be reached at. a special meeting to bo held at tho prison at 10 o'clock uext Tuesdav morning. At this meeting about twenty twen-ty other cases also will bo considered. |
