When the new oro rates from mines along tho Touopah & Tidewater railroad rail-road to Needles go inio effect ou January Janu-ary 24th.. tho3 aro expected lo make valuable many tons of low grade ore which are now lying on tho diiui,-s and in addition they will make prolitable tho operation of many mines producing low grade ore. More than that, they will stimulato other mining by adding, in some instances from $3 to $5 a ton to tbo profits to bo derived. Tho new tariff shows an cntiro readjustment re-adjustment of rates on the various grades of ore. From the Recopa district dis-trict for instance, at present all above $50 oro pays a flat rate of $8.S9 a ton lo Needles up to S100 ore. Under tho new schedule SG0 ore will pay ouly $-i.0o; $70 oro will pav $0.45 and $100 ore will pav $S.20. On tho lower grades from the Recopa district tho rate"1 on 515 ore is reduced from $2,151 to $2; I hat on $10 oro is reduced from $4.i)$ to $3.35 and intermediate grades in proportion. Tho new rates from floldficld, it is believed, will bring considerable ore to The Needles smcltor from that district. dis-trict. Heretofore it has all goue to San Francisco or Salt Lake City.
