Show U. L. & R. CO. REPLIES TO DAMAGE SUITS The Utah Light and Railway company has filed answer to two suits for damages segregating more than ?55.000. In "the case of J. Boyd Gordon, administrator of tho oHtato of S. 8. L-lndeman, who was killed by a Second South street oar in May, 1907. the company says that Llnde-man's Llnde-man's death was due. to his own carelessness, care-lessness, lie whf struck by a westbomit car when alighting from a oar going eastward, east-ward, and suffered Instant death. The complaint alleged that no warning whistle or gong wajs founded and that iJndeman's doath was due to the criminal nogllgenco of tho employees of the company. Damages Dam-ages of SciO.000 wore asked. Francis II. Saunders, while working for the city at the Intersection of Third South and Second East strets, was struck bv a rapldlv moving car, sustaining severo bfulsea. He sued for 55122. alleging that the company was negligent. The samo answer is made to this complaint. |
