The cracked rock which Is being used n hauled in flat ears from North Salt Lake, and the gravel comes from Jordan river. Only American labor is being employed, with the exception of about llflcen ,Iap-aneso ,Iap-aneso section men who wore brought In from t ho road to take- up tho tracks which were on the ground at the commencement commence-ment of work on the depot. All the piles for the east wall and tho two ci.ida have been driven, but the work on the east wall will not begin for a week or ten daya. The steam shovel also has stopped operations, and it will bo shipped out of the city soon. A largo concrete nilxpr is now on the ground, and tho work of laying the foundation will begin as .soon n,s tho excavation work Is completed. This will be the hitler hit-ler part of tho week.
