Show STRONG OBJECTION TO STORAGE OF GASOLINE The ptorlng of oil. and particularly gaso. line, within the city limits formed Hie subject of a. strong petition presented to the City Council at its meeting on Monday Mon-day evening. Daniel I. lSlton and a largo number of others protested against permission per-mission being given to the Continental Oil company to build nn addition to its plant on Second South and Depot avenue to increase Its roal oil and especially gasoline storage rapacity, and asked that the building Inspector bo Instructed to refuso such application when presented. The petition sets forth that there is gn.-at danger from such storage to both lives and property of residents in that section; also lhat the Franklin school in within half a block and the lives of the children aro in danger. It also contains a request that on the expiration of tho present license of tho company that, no further license be granted. The matter went over lo Ihe committees. |
