Show WORRIES ARE AT AN END. . High School Huskies Decide Team Is to Continue to Live. The worries of the enthusiasts of-the sport at the local high school as 'to whether their football team shall continue con-tinue its existence and represent the institution on the gridiron the ensuing season were brought to an end at a meeting of the members of the squad Monday afternoon, when an affirmative decision was reached. This decision eliminates all possibility of the dissolution disso-lution of the team, which has, been imminent im-minent for several days, in consequence of the enforcement by .Principal Eaton of the rule compelling members of the team to be thoroughly up-to-date in their studies. All the members of the squad who are at all behind in their school work announced that they would get down to earnest study, and thereby make themselves eligible for the contests con-tests which the team is scheduled to Plav. Principal Eaton addressod the huskies. hus-kies. Ho explained that several years ago the principals of the high schools and several other institutions of the State entered into an agreement providing pro-viding that no student would bo permitted per-mitted to play football unless up to date in school work. Principal Eaton declared that he proposed to live up to this agreement, and that . any students stu-dents of the school desiring to play on its team will have to comply with it. Captain Vaughn Paul and Scott Morris, Mor-ris, who played center last year, were not at all satisfied with Principal Eaton's Ea-ton's explanation, and therefore tendered ten-dered their resignations as members of the squad. Both resignations were accented. ac-cented. Jimmy Dunn, one of the best and pluckiest players on the team of last year, was elected captain lo succeed suc-ceed Paul. |
