Show WILL GREET EXCTJRSIONISTS. "Get Acquainted" Party to Be Entertained Enter-tained at American Fork. AMERICAN FORK, Utah. March 5.-At a special meeting of tho Commercial club, held last evening, the matter of meeting iind entertaining the Mrchants and Manufacturers' Manu-facturers' association, which will mak& a stay of thirty minutes here on their way through this county and other southern counties on their "Get acquainted" trip, will bo given a royal reception and carry away with them a good impression of this busy little town The town will be given a holiday appearance, tho stores and all other business houses will close and the club and citizens will be out In a bodv to welcome th visitors. Immediately upon their arrival here they will bo escorted around the town and r.hown points of Interest In-terest which this placo has to offer. Immediately Im-mediately before tnelr departure thev will bo escorted to Apollo hall, where "there Mill be somo short speech-making Canning Factory Planned. The Commercial club of this place with the aid of Mr. E. E Buster of Chicago, are working up the organization of a canning can-ning and urcsorvlng factory for American Fork Mr. Buster met with tho board of governors of tho club within the week, and tho entire plan was gone over, and received tho hearty Indorsement of tho club. 'Hie plant as outlined will cost In tho neighborhood of iSOlC and will be of sufllclcnt capacity to take care of all the surplus fruit and vegetables of this section sec-tion From tho present apearance It will be but a short time until tho organization Is completed and tho construction of the plant Is commenced. Ren Halllday of Pleasant Grove has accepted ac-cepted the position of meatcutter at the Farmer's t'nlon and will move his family here to make their home. Ex-Mayor J. J. Jackson of this place Is confined to his homo with a bad attack of rheumatism, this being his third attack this winter The rooms of tho Commercial club arc now under way of construction and thoy promise to be the llnest in tho Slate, with the exception of Salt Lake Clly. Everything Every-thing known for modern club purposes will bo Installed. Melvln D. Wells of Salt Lake City and Mr. C. W. Jones of Milwaukee spent part of the week In American Fork. Mrs. W. D. Edmonds of Provo spent part of the week In American Fork as tho guest of her parents. Mr and Mrs. E. II Stout. Eye Hurt by Flying Metal. A. J. Pederson of this place yesterday met with a very painful accident whllo at work In his blacksmith shop. lie was engaged In cutting a bolt with a cold chisel, and by accident a piece of stee! Hew Into his eye, causing a bad Injurv At present It is not known whether ho will lose his eyo or not. A baby girl arrived at tho home of Mr. or.d Mrs. Abner Blrk of this place yesterday. yester-day.
