Show SHORT Li REPORT ON WRECK SUBMITTED Superintendent W. E. Costello Will Pass on Findings on His Return. An Investigation Into the cause of tho wreck on the Short Line, north of' the city, last Tuesday morning, has been made by the ofllclals of the, roud. The papers In the case, with the recommendation recommenda-tion of tlvi board of Inquiry, embodied In the preliminary report, have been forwarded for-warded to W. E. Costello. superintendent of tho Oregon Short Line, Utah division, divi-sion, by his chief clerk. Whnt those findings are or what are the recommendations recommen-dations of the report, have not been made public, nor will they be until approved iy the general superintendent, who has tho authority to approve or reject the findings of the board of Inquiry. Superintendent Super-intendent Costello Is out on the line and may not return for a day or two. Notwithstanding Not-withstanding that the findings of fact and conclusions arrived at relating to the disaster have been forwarded to him, It is more than likely that he will not dln-poso dln-poso of the case until ho Is satisfied that his decision will do exact Justice to all persons to be affected by it. For this purpose. It Is altogether probable that Superintendent Costello will mnkc a personal per-sonal examination of all the papors In the case. Including a review of the affidavits of witnesses, before rendering a final decision. de-cision. Tho freight crew were taken Immediately Immedi-ately out of the service after the accident acci-dent nnd will remain suspended from duty pending the examination and final determination of the case, which, on account ac-count of the absence from his office of Superintendent Costello, will be several days yet. |
