Show TRAIN OF LABORERS TUMBLES INTO LAKE MILLINOCKET, Me., Oct. 26. A work train of flat carB on which were forty or fifty Italian laborers engaged in the contstruction of an artificial lake today through the sinking of tho track and a messenger who claimed to havo seen the accident reported that nearly all the workmen had been drowned. The company officials, however, while admitting admit-ting tho accident, denied that there had been great loss of life. Tho lake is five miles long and a mile wide. Tho railroad rail-road track is on the side of tho lake, and according to tho messenger, the track settled, throwing everj'ono on tho train into the water. The messenger said that he drove to tho scene and saw tho trainmen reach a place of safet', but few of tho workmen escaped. |
